| In 1994, as Head of Strategy at National Grid, he was responsible for the creation and implementation of the Uplift Management Scheme. Dr. White was also Head of Utility Research at both Kleinwort Benson and Citigroup and led the equity research behind the restructuring and flotations of Enel, Endesa, Snam Retegas, Enagas, Red Electrica de Espana, and Mannheim’s utility, MVV.
Dr. White served on the British Government’s Energy Advisory Panel from 1993 to 2003. He is a non-executive Director of the New and Renewable Energy Centre at Blyth, and remains a member of the advisory boards of Climate Change Capital’s Private Equity Fund for Clean Technologies of the UK’s Energy Research Centre and Sussex University’s Energy Group. He was awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2004 for his work in UK energy policy.
